Frequently Asked Questions

Questions regarding the South Lakes Programs

How do I know which Program is right for me?

The program you choose depends on what you are looking to accomplish and what program you currently play in.  Head Start is for all of our Recreational players.  Extra Time is geared for our Competitive and Academy Players.  Extra Time offers Speed/Agility, Ball Mastery, and Shooting and Striking.  If you are looking to improve in one of these areas, choose that program.  You are able to do more than one program if desired.

What equipment do I need?

All players will need shin guards, water, a correct size soccer ball, and soccer shoes for each session.  For players playing U4-U8 a size 3 ball is used.  Players in the U9-12 age groups a size 4 ball is used.  Players playing U13 and older a size 5 ball is used.

What is Little Cosmos?

This program is designed for players that are not old enough for Recreational soccer yet.

Can I play Street Soccer even if I'm not enrolled in a Program?

Yes.  Street Soccer is open to all players at SLSC.

What if a session gets cancelled?  What if the weather is bad?

Typically if a session gets cancelled, we try and reschedule the session.  It may or may not be on a Friday and if too late in the season it may just remain cancelled.  However, we have been able to make up all sessions to this point.  If the weather is bad just check our website for the most accurate field status and if the complex is open or closed.

Are goalkeepers allowed to attend the shooting and striking sessions?

Yes!  We encourage any/all competitive and academy goalkeepers to attend to get additional training reps.  There is no cost for goalkeepers to attend this program.

Can I register for a program at the fields?

Yes.  You can register in person at the complex on the first night the program is set to begin.
